The DDCA provides sanctioned competitions for schools who are paid members of the association.

High school dance team seniors, nominated by their coach, are invited to audition for the DDCA All-State Team. Three separate All-State Teams are selected (1A-4A, 5A, and 6A). Those who are selected to the team will perform at the OSAA State Championships.​

Junior Team events are scheduled each year by event coordinators and directors, usually from January through April.  The Junior Dance Team Championships (OJDTC) is a culminating event for Junior Teams.  Since OJDTC and most Junior Team competitions are not sanctioned by the DDCA, the event structure and categories may be slightly different from traditional DDCA procedures and categories.  This includes judges, which are not required or guaranteed to be certified by the DDCA Judges Affiliation.

The DDCA Membership gathers three times per year at our Fall, Winter, and Spring Membership Meetings.  The Board of Directors facilitates these meetings, where we discuss important events and issues pertinent to the time of year, review finances, and vote on any proposed changes. It is important that each school has at least one DDCA Member attend the membership meetings.

The DDCA Scholar Athlete Program recognizes seniors with a cumulative GPA of 3.5 or higher who are currently a members of a dance team, and meet OSAA guidelines for eligibility. The GPA should reflect the 7th semester cumulative GPA. Four year team membership is not required. These athletes are listed in the OSAA state competition programs.

Formerly called DDCA Championships, the DDCA Invitational is a competition usually held in December, and serves as a culminating event for categories not offered at the OSAA State Championships, as well as a regular competition for some categories that are offered at State.  The DDCA Board chooses when to hold the event and what will be offered. Categories often offered at the DDCA Invitational include:  Contemporary, Modern, Novelty, Jazz, Pom, Kick, Hip Hop, Solo/Duo/Trios, and sometimes Show.

DDCA offers several different scholarships to deserving dance team members.  High school dance team seniors are invited to apply for the DDCA Academic and Diversity Scholarships. Dance Scholarships are awarded to top scoring dancers from the All State Team Auditions.  These scholarships can be used for both dance and academic pursuits.   Opportunity Scholarships are awarded to dance team members that require additional financial help to be part of a dance team.  Please see the scholarship page for more information about all of these scholarship opportunities.

The DDCA Board makes every effort to create educational opportunities for DDCA Members.  This educational opportunity is often in the form of a coaches conference and may be held in the Fall or the Spring.  Announcements and registration forms will be provided as events develop.
