2025/26 Spirit Safety Course is available for review.

All coaches, choreographers, and associates must take the spirit safety course if they plan to work directly with a dance team for more than three practices/rehearsals.

Due to lower than expected registration numbers, we have made the difficult decision to postpone the DDCA Coaches Conference to September 6, 2025.

While we're disappointed to delay the event, we're optimistic that the new date will allow for broader participation and an even more engaging experience. We hope you'll be able to join us on the rescheduled date!

Please note the fall membership meeting is scheduled for the same day, so be sure to mark your calendar!

The DDCA Board is incredibly excited to announce our Master Class instructor, Katie Suh!

With her background in NFL cheer and NBA dance, she will be bringing the heat with a fun intermediate/advanced Gameday and Pom routine.

Please join the DDCA in congratulating Vernita Reyna as the 2023-2024 NFHS Oregon Spirit Coach of the Year and the NFHS Section 8 Spirit Coach of the Year.

Vernita has coached high school dance for 25 years (4 years South Salem; 21 years Sprague).

In the time she’s coached at Sprague, she’s built the strong team culture and supportive environment we have for our dancers today. She leads with humility, never-ending encouragement, and the kindest heart. Those who know Vernita, know how truly special she is in the way she so graciously connects with others, especially over a mutual love of dance.

In addition to coaching, Vernita has been a performance judge in Oregon, Washington, and Idaho for 35 years. She has been named the DDCA 6A Coach of the Year (2015 & 2020), earned the DDCA Service Award (1999), and is a DDCA Lifetime Achievement honoree (2024).
